Leif's Run

Leif's Run offers a 10K, 5K and 2-mile fun run.  The race is held as part of the Leif Erikson Festival in Norway, MI on October 7, 2023.

Race day registration and check-in will take place in the basement of the City Hall from 7:30-8:30 am. Parking is available on side streets. Awards handed out at 10:30 in the City Band Shell next to the City Hall. Course will close at 11:00 to open for festival traffic.

The race will be chip-timed with race receipts provided by Tortoise and Hare Timing of Arbor Vitae, WI along with long-sleeve shirts featuring the Viking logo.  This year's updated course will begin in Downtown Norway in front of the City Hall and City Band Shell, with scenic views of Strawberry Lake and (on the 10k course) passing by the Norway Spring with an overlook point of downtown.  Finish with cheers from our Vikings along with spectators from the festival!  Awards and prizes for top finishers overall (male and female for 10k and 5k) and in each age group (10k and 5k) along with BEST costume (all races eligible)!

After the race, stick around - there will be music in the City Band Shell beginning at 11:00.  Food vendors, Viking reenactments, fine art show, blacksmith demonstration, children's activities, crowning of Miss Norway and a parade at 3:00.  The festival will wrap up with a walk for the Viking funeral pyre at Strawberry Lake Park gathering at 6:45.

Race participants will all receive $5 in Viking Bucks as part of their registration to be used at participating Norway businesses.

End Time: 11:00 AM CDT

Price: $30 Race Fee + $2.80 Sign Up Fee

Race entry includes a long-sleeve t-shirt, but there is an option for no t-shirt with a $10 price reduction. Only those runners who pre-register will be guaranteed to receive a t-shirt, if selected.

Race starts on Main Street near City Hall entrance. A scenic town course featuring two challenging hills and a lap around Strawberry Lake. Miles will be marked with two water stops. Finish on Main Street in front of the City Band Shell.

Price: $25 Race Fee + $2.50 Sign Up Fee
